Sneaky Fascism is The Worst

On a walk recently with my dog I walked past some graffiti that made me stop and look back, because I felt like it had negative connotations, even though I could not remember exactly what. I took a picture and spent hours trawling through google, sending it to my friends, some of them seasoned anti-fascists. Nobody could place it and some even suggested it might be just a tag. I eventually found its origins and felt sick at what I discovered.

This symbol represents Wolfsangel SS, a division of the SS and it depicts a wolf trap. It was used by the Nazis in world war 2. It is not so easily recognised as the swastika and this is a tactic used by cowardly Nazis, to pick something so obscure so only they know its true meaning, whilst they operate in plain site.

On my next visit to the park I showed the image to as many dog walkers as I could, to inform them of its sinister roots. One person said they had no idea that it was so scary, they’d assumed it was just a 4 attached to a 7, and they’d seen it dotted around all over the area. I advised they carry a marker or similar with them on their visits, to cover it up and they agreed.

I was at the park again today, telling another regular about it when they asked me if I’d seen the news about the gun discovered in our park. Apparently it was a Luger, a German weapon used by the ‘German Empire’.. like, what the actual fuck. To make matters worse, it was loaded. A member of our community reported it. The West Midlands Police report seems to tie it in with regular gun crime, not far right white supremacist extremism, which leads me to question whether they’re being wilfully obtuse (they’re not exactly a shining example of race relations in the community) or just dense, having not connected the dots between Nazi paraphernalia and their apparent presence in the area.

I thought it would be enough to cover their symbols up in passive resistance but I’m not so sure now. We need an antifascist front actively manning the park and surrounding areas, an organised resistance, an antifa neighbourhood watch. The park lies on an area of land that is bordered by racially segregated communities, but also divided by class. On one side there is the white working class, or as locals call it ‘the co-op end’, on another, a fairly affluent white middle class, but there is also the ethnic side, Muslims, South Asians, Arabs and Irish.. if there were ever a race war, it would be quick and bloody, with little chance for escape.

I would like to ask all anti-fascists (or people opposed to fascism) to renew their local links and make themselves a force to be reckoned with. Nazis only bluster about for as long as we let them, they’re mostly cowards at heart who take their cues from fascists in the state and media, which is why they were silent for the most part during my childhood. I was born and raised here and asides from the NF making themselves a nuisance during the 80s, I was blissfully unaware of the contempt a significant number of white people have for other ethnicities in this country.

If things are this bleak in an area known for its progressive culture and community I dread to think what it must be like in the scarier parts of town. It makes me want to leave the house even less than I already do. We have to make ourselves safe, we cannot rely on the authorities or they’d have nipped the nazi problem in the bud when it was still masquerading as ethics in gaming.

Hampshire Police in Racism Shocker

Hampshire constabulary is under investigation for institutional racism, with a staggering 19 members of staff alleged to have used prejudiced and inappropriate language. The complaint was filed by another one of their employees. Given the structural racism minorities are acutely aware of, this whistleblower deserves to be commended and supported through this trying time. When there are so many offenders concentrated in one place, we have to ask whether this case will be treated with the impartiality it requires, or whether it speaks to a culture in the workplace.

In all honesty I was surprised to find it was Hampshire constabulary they were referring to. My thoughts immediately went to West Midlands Police, or even The Met, given my personal experiences of their non existent race relations. Having been on the receiving end of racist abuse, from individual officers, to the inadequate response I was given when I reported nazi forums stacked with fascists threatening to rape and kill me, I can categorically state, the cops are the fascists, more often than not. They hate women, and minorities, we put ourselves at further risk whenever we interact with them, especially when we are seeking help.

The police force attracts a certain type of individual. Someone who is looking to settle scores, someone who wants the power to act with impunity. Very rarely you meet someone who genuinely wants to better their community, or a minority who wants to bridge the gap between the authorities and their marginalised group but these people, if they manage to hold on to their principles, usually leave and move on to teaching or social services. They realise they cannot change the system from within, it is too white, too patriarchal, too violent to contend with.

Consider this piece, in which the head of the national police chief’s council is quoted as saying hate crimes distract from the police’s core role (protecting her majesty’s estates?) which apparently involves responding to emergencies (how many of those are hate crimes?) and investigating burglaries (I’ve been burgled twice, prior to austerity cuts, and the cops were useless).

In actual fact, I agree with Ms Thornton. I don’t think the cops should be the ones to solve hate crimes, I don’t think they have the range of feeling you need to provide care and protection to vulnerable victims. I don’t think they are capable of treating rape and sexual violence with the sensitivity it requires. When we consider that cops are 5 times more likely to commit domestic abuse, and probably sexual violence too (not forgetting racism), when we pay attention to the sheer number of cops popping up in the mainstream media, for sexual abuse, for neglect of victims, and other hate crimes, case in point, then it is absurd that we expect these exceptionally troubled people to empathise with us when we are at our most vulnerable.

There has to be a better way.

West Midlands Police don’t care about rape threats against women of colour

West Midlands police have launched an investigation into UKIP candidate Carl Benjamin aka Sargon of Akkad (a persistent and odious troll rooted in Gamergate, he was a champion for that other misogynist Elevatorgate) for saying he’d rape Jess Phillips if he were under pressure. He had previously said he wouldn’t even rape her, in 2016 when Jess discussed men threatening rape on social media.

Prior to this, in 2014, I had approached West Midlands police with a dossier of tweets aimed at me threatening to rape me, in sick detail, and death threats, suggestions to kill myself, a calculated effort on the part of gamergaters and various chan types to silence the most vocal social justice activists. They were sicced on us by the liberal leftie media (led by Helen Lewis) when we challenged their outrageously bigoted takes on minorities whilst excluding us from the conversation. At the time there was a surge in radical feminists taking a stand and ‘kill all men’ was a hyperbolic retort to the escalating harassment and stalking of women activists online. This phrase caused more of a ripple at my local plod office than the reams of threats and attempts to dox me. They said they could not prove rape threats were outside the realms of taste and decency in the context of international law and if I was so threatened I should log off the internet. Furthermore I was advised I could face criminal prosecution for my use of said phrase. I was victimised again by the very people who are supposed to keep us safe. I wasn’t going to make the same mistake again.

I said as much on social media, and challenged West Midlands police on their Twitter account for failing to do even the most basic of their duties and they blocked me. So self assured were they, that someone as insignificant as me would go unheard, they just turned their backs. I approached Jess about it on Twitter and she told me to talk to my own MP, but only after a slanging match. I tweeted Stella Creasy as well and she just ignored me. Now we’ve got everyone bending over backwards to condemn the nazi rapists who went largely ignored by the authorities for YEARS until someone ‘important’ was targeted.

I will reiterate what I said then, as pertinent as it is now; you might have more in common with them, they may share your political leanings, your skin colour, or your mutual dislike of opponents but you let them brutalise even one of us and you’ve allowed for society to take a nosedive in standards and made the world a little colder and crueller with your indifference. Doing the right thing isn’t a commendable thing really, not when we find it so easy to help the people we like. To stand for people who can do nothing for you, against injustices that have a knock on effect on us all, that’s a true measure of one’s character; to be principled in complex scenarios, and sadly we just haven’t had the leaders in place to ensure this.

It has allowed for perpetrators of ‘unpleasant comments’ to legally stand for public office.

electroal

Consider the way in which Bahar Mustafa was targeted amid calls for her to lose her job for saying “kill all white men”. Or the way Sarah Jeong was mercilessly harangued, for remarks such as “dumbass white people” by the very same Gamergate incels who no doubt informed her opinions. It’s very easy to mount campaigns to uproot and destroy the lives of women of colour yet white men can LEGALLY make threats to rape serving women MPs and the electoral commission just shrugs, minimises criminal intent and says “what can you do?”

As a society we have rewarded the worst in human traits. In the pursuit of white supremacy, a thing all white people even the ‘not racist’ ones must protect, it was easier to pretend we didn’t exist perhaps in the hopes we would succumb to threats. We haven’t and the abusers have only been empowered by the authorities’ tacit approval, so much so that they can threaten rape and stand for public office.

5 years on we haven’t killed all the men or even one, but the number of women targeted by rapists and the far right has grown out of control. Our free speech came under question but the criminal activities of rapist nazis were enabled because they are actually all on the same side.

This country has gone to shit and it isn’t because of immigrants, it’s raping paedophile nazis platformed by the mainstream media and government. Jess is perhaps best placed to change this.. FOR ALL WOMEN.. but will she?

More in common with Prince Harry

I’m not a fan or a royalist, I’m not writing this for any other reason than posterity. For this particular purpose we have more in common than that which divides us, if the news reports are anything to go by. A group of nazis on the internet have been tracked down and arrested for terror offences against the prince and his exotic bride. Members of the atomwaffen/sonnenkrieg division, an American neo nazi gaming site have made threats to kill Prince Harry for being a ‘race traitor’. A 17 year old from London, 18 year old from Portsmouth and 21 year old from Bath have been arrested although they deny the charges.

Atomwaffen, like the nazi site kiwi farms, is a forum for emotionally/developmentally stunted caucasian males (and the odd East Asian and Jew who’ve identified whiteness as the ultimate get out of jail card) who can’t get laid and live in their mum’s basement, spanking their marmoset furiously over a dream they’re going to genocide people of colour some day (as if that would give any meaning to their worthless amoebic lives). Atomwaffen, like the neo nazi site kiwi farms, is linked to the murders of multiple victims, including Blaze Bernstein, a 19 year old Jewish student who was brutally slain whilst visiting his parents. Samuel Woodward, a former classmate and member of atomwaffen was arrested and charged with murder.

The parallels between atomwaffen and kiwi farms are clear to see, not least of all the troubling body count. I find it hard to believe authorities would have allowed men of colour forums in which they described murder and sexual abuse of white women for even a short while, yet groups like kiwi farms and atomwaffen have been given the freedom to propagate sexual violence against women of colour and incitement to murder and even terrorism without so much as a ripple from those who have the power to make them stop. If West Midlands police had done something in 2014, when I reported stacks of racist rape and death threats against me by nazi gamers, perhaps they wouldn’t have proliferated so exponentially and been so emboldened as to threaten a prince. I mean, they really believe their own hype. To be fair, consequences have been a little thin on the ground, in that there have been none. Perhaps these fledgling nazis are so confident in the support they receive from the establishment, the justice system and media they actually believe they are more powerful than a prince who is 6th in line to the British throne. When you look at the ways in which the media presents Meghan Markle, how it portrays her as a thorn in Kate’s side, drip feeding unfavourable quotes from ‘sources close to the royal family’ (probably that golliwog wearing climber of kent or even that racist old fart in law, so many to choose), they are telling the world she is an outsider, and we know they mean cos she’s black.

When scores of teenagers were getting ill and dying as a result of thinspiration styled sites encouraging starvation and self harm, campaigners were able to get those sites banned. No free speech nazis demanding the right to be indoctrinated by harmful gurus and being validated and yet when we bring up the subject of nazi incel forums and how hate speech is not free speech, we get shut down because the people who have the power to change things are white men and they have more in common with pubescent nazis than they do with the women of colour they target.

Take for example the BBC’s decision to publish an image that Atomwaffen nazis made depicting Harry getting a shot to head with the caption ‘race traitor’. The image was taken down after a complaint from the royal household. It was argued that the BBC were giving unnecessary exposure to an item that could compromise the safety of the royal couple. I quite agree, those who persistently platform nazi propaganda are collaborators at the very least. The BBC have in the past allowed a member of the public to flaunt his swastika tattoo without challenge from the presenters. They have consistently favoured fascists like Farage, platforming him more times that the other party leaders combined in the run up to the last general election.

Harry has the power to do something and demand accountability. He’s come some way from the nazi armband wearing youth who perhaps regrets his past. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out and whether the powers that be are ready to admit they failed to do their jobs and all in the name of white supremacy.

Justice is for white people

This is the response I got from West Midlands police after I asked them to escalate the complaint to superiors. I called the police to help me. They didn’t help me. Instead they gave me a warning.

I knew when I was raped that I could not go to the police because they’d probably say I deserved it for inviting the rapists back. It doesn’t matter that they were just friends when I let them into my home and an entirely normal thing to do when you trust people (who are friends) but in the context of a rape investigation, it’s almost like the purpose of the police is to discredit victims, especially when they are female and almost certainly when they are not white.

The police don’t give a shit about non-white women; I knew this from my work. They don’t much care for white working class women either but they still have the edge over poor brown women. The police can communicate better with people who speak their language, not just spoken but also cultural and unspoken, in the way they’ve been taught to react to things, like, how to be a worthy victim. Whether they self-identify as racist or not, suggesting that non-white perpetrators of violence against women are entitled to that power and control because their religious beliefs are protected by law allegedly and then shrugging as if to say “what can you do with these savages?” IS racist because if they did a little research, picked up a book or two, they’d realise violence against any person who is not your physical match is forbidden. It is racism that allows these people to turn a blind eye and in some cases gleefully abandon vulnerable people because of their immigration status.  This is something I learnt through my work, that the police are inherently racist and sexist.

I don’t like the police. I don’t care if they don’t like me either. I just want to know why I spent my whole life believing racism was illegal and that this meant something could be done about it. Also I know how serious (also illegal) threats to kill are because of the work I have done in the past, yet the police expect me to believe they cannot do anything about the abuse I face because Twitter won’t do something for them. How did they make Twitter oblige when it was the blonde middle class Caroline Criado Perez with her media contacts who was being targeted? She was in all the papers, her face flustered from the stress of being a woman on the internet and we learnt she was clinically depressed from the ordeal. I have CPTSD. I am on medication for mental and physical disabilities. I often have thoughts around suicide and yet the police have dismissed the threats and abuse numerous people subjected to me, even though there was money missing from my bank account.

(TW threats/racism)

“I will slit your throat and hang you upside down bitch, don’t tempt me”

“People are going to hammer you”

“Please shut the fuck up or I will murder you”

“Please shut up you paki”

“If you don’t like Britain go back to your own country you ungrateful whore”

“…You stupid, laughable cry-baby cunt”

“Begging for money on your blog I see…typical Paki girl”

“Proof you can’t be friends with a Paki”

“I’m going to kill you”

“Hahaha you ugly little slag, lol”

“I’m gonna slice you up bitch”

“I’m gonna cut you up”

“Please just drown yourself now please. Still gonna kill you”

If saying “kill all men” is incitement to murder than what is this^ person doing to me? Or the various search terms actually telling me to kill myself? They’re not saying all people should do this, this is a direct threat aimed at me, Sam Ambreen (not all women of colour). No one else, just me. CPTSD makes you hyper vigilant because you feel like you’re going to die most of the time. In the balance of harm, how can West Midlands police have the audacity to follow up a refusal to support me with a warning that I am committing a criminal offence and that they don’t believe me or cannot defend me for saying a few words (regarding 4 billion strange men)?

I’m not sorry that I cannot play the right sort of victim for you. The police are notorious for their inconsistency when it comes to believing victims. If you didn’t fight back, why not, did you on some level enjoy it or give them the impression you were consenting? If you did fight back, well, you’re clearly not a victim and can take care of yourself. In fact now you’re the problem because you’re hostile and a loose cannon. Well, he’s the one with all the scratches on his face (self-defence is only an option if you’re white and middle class, as we reminded Criado Perez only a few days ago).

I cannot fight back; I must leave the internet if things are that bad otherwise I haven’t the right to complain. Helpful advice from the police who are definitely not trying to silence me, say because of my political beliefs and utter distrust of the police. I didn’t want to go to them; I was encouraged to do so by people on Twitter who were horrified at the stream of nastiness I was subjected to. I wasn’t confident they’d do anything but I did not expect to be reminded of how I may be breaking the law for reacting to abuses perpetrated against me.

I don’t want to be in this country. It’s not safe. There is no help here for people like me, only more violence in future. I have nothing positive to say about any of my experiences with the authorities (or the majority of white people). I get it ok, you don’t like me because I can see you’re looking down on me and I know that I’m above that so you do your best to punch down and push me into a corner where no one can hear me. This only means I will keep screaming until the opportunity presents itself to leave this living nightmare. I know my worth (and the law) and you don’t get to call it.

If I now wished global warming would hurry up and drown this tiny island, would you consider that incitement to an act of God?
